Spider Glazing & Glass Facade Systems

Point-fixed spider glazing systems creating dramatic, transparent glass facades with minimal structure.

Spider glazing is a point-fixed glass facade system where stainless-steel spider fittings (rotule arms) attach each glass panel at four corner bolts to a back structure — with no aluminum frame visible from outside. Spider glazing is used in building atriums, hotel lobbies, shopping mall entrances, corporate HQ facades, and airport terminals. Spider glass fittings are stainless-steel swivel-head bolts that allow each panel to flex independently under wind and thermal movement. Compared to framed glass, spider glazing offers maximum transparency, an architectural statement look, and greater light penetration. We install spider glazing systems across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

Spider Glazing for Maximum Transparency

Spider glazing, also called point-fixed glazing, holds each glass panel at its corners with stainless-steel fittings fixed to a steel, glass-fin or cable structure behind. There is no aluminum frame on the outside, so the facade looks like a clear wall of glass.

It is the system of choice for hotel lobbies, mall entrances, showrooms, atriums and corporate headquarters. Because each fitting has a swivel head, the panels can move slightly under wind and heat, which suits the large temperature swings of Saudi summers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between spider glazing and structural glazing?

Structural glazing bonds glass to a hidden aluminum frame with silicone. Spider glazing has no frame at all: the glass is bolted at points to a support structure, which gives even more transparency.

What glass is used for spider glazing?

Tempered or laminated safety glass, drilled before toughening to take the fittings. Laminated glass is used where the panel must stay in place if it breaks, such as overhead or at height.

Is spider glazing suitable for the Saudi climate?

Yes. The swivel fittings let the glass move with heat and wind, and solar-control or low-E glass can be used to manage heat gain on large glazed areas.
